This tripod exceeded my expectation! Smooth and easy to extend the legs. Nice leveling feature. I use a small Starrett cross test Level to verify level for panoramic shooting. It seems very solid. I use it for a very long lens with a gimbal head, with a panoramic head or, as in the sample lightening image, with long exposures (21 seconds in this example).

I love the ProMediaGear L-Bracket (PLCBGR10). I have purchased three of them so far. One for my R6 Mark II, one for my R5 Mark II, and one for the soon to be released R6 Mark III. When not on a tripod, I use them in conjunction with a MiniFocus Arca clamp and a Nitze side handle with a short offset Arri connector. Having the left-side handle mounted to the L-Bracket by an Arca Clamp allows for the quick removal of the handle to mount on a tripod in portrait mode. One thing I really like about the ProMediaGear L-Bracket is that they provide 100% clearance of all cables (microphone, USB C, headphone, HDMI, and remote cables) and there is absolutely no conflict with the movement of the touch screen. I tried three other L-Brackets before I landed on ProMediaGear. Each of the previous brackets failed; one was too flimsy, and two others interfered with the operation of the camera. ProMediaGear was the clear winner. Just wished I had found them first.
I needed advise on how to replace my panning knob for the Katana pro, Promedia customer service "answered" the phone and send me the information via email with a video on how to do it properly, Big thank s to PMG good solid equipment and good service to back it up.

I purchased this to replace the existing, not-so-great, connector on my BlackRapid Sport Breath Strap to connect it to the QD on the lens foot of my Sony 200-600 lens. It has worked out beautifully.

The 8” Arca is the perfect plate for my 600mm telephoto

I purchased the junior Katana head coupled with a 34 series carbon fiber tripod for a lightweight hiking solution and could not be more satisfied. I also own the full size Katana head along with a 42 series tripod for less adventurous situations and am pleased with this setup also. These items are precise, machined devices that are very stable when "tuned in" and in my opinion worth the price. Count me as a very pleased customer.

I found a ziplock back of parts at an estate sale about a year ago. Finally sat down and tried to figure out what I had and was delighted to see that it was the ProMedia boomerang flash bracket, minus several parts. Thanks ProMedia for having the parts in stock and delivered in just a few days. Now I just need an event to debut the rig!!

- lightweight, high quality and sturdy tripod
- fast free shipping
- packed well
- 2nd pmg tripod purchased
- very pleased with purchase & buying experience

I am really liking the L bracket because I like that I can articulate my OM-1 Mk II LCD screen while using it. I also purchased the QD Quick Release Plug Connector for Camera Straps or Carabiners so that I could adapt my Blackrapid strap to use with the L bracket, which I really like. These products appear very well designed and solid.

This is my second PMG tripod. The TR424L is the tripod for windy conditions, feeding grounds, and when walking distance isn't significant. It's the tripod for use with heavy R3 + 600mm f4 equipment.
I've had other brands, equally or heavier, but never as solid.
Recently, one of the sections failed, and I had no problems with its replacement under warranty, no ridiculous questions, or hidden clauses.
This is my general-use tripod, as it provides the security and solidity required for my equipment in the changing weather conditions and terrain of Costa Rica's tropical forests.
A great product for those of us who are demanding and don't sacrifice quality and solidity for anything.

This gimbal head is just about perfect for my needs, which are to switch between stills and video with a heavy telephoto lens. I switched from a carbon fiber gimbal head for smoother panning and because the old one would recoil a bit when I locked it down, making it very difficult to center a bird. The build quality on the Katana Jr is outstanding, and the motion is very smooth. The pan and tilt knobs are capable of adjusting the tension precisely, though it takes a few seconds to get it just right. Once you get it, though, you have the best of both worlds: you can track quickly like any gimbal head, but if you stop and let go, the lens will stay exactly where you left it, with no recoil whatsoever. I’m sure a fluid head would be better if all I was doing was video, but it’s quite good at that and just about perfect for stills. It’s also, amazingly, lighter than my old carbon fiber gimbal head.
I have been using the side-mount version because it’s about half a pound lighter than with the cradle. The disadvantages are that it takes a bit longer to balance the lens and that, unless you have an L-bracket (which I don’t), you won’t be able to mount the camera in landscape orientation (if, for example, you switch to a smaller lens to take a landscape photo). Thankfully, ProMediaGear sells a conversion (A40), so if you don’t like the side mount, you can switch to the cradle.
To sum up, the Katana Jr is just about perfect for still photography with a big telephoto, quite competent for video, surprisingly light, and well made.
I got two of these L brackets back in 2021 for my R5 and R6. I shoot weddings and was dealing with a lot of wrist pain and carpal tunnel in my right hand from holding the weight of an R5, L lens and flash for 6-8 hours at a time. I decided to switch to this L bracket, primarily to utilize the L bracket as a secondary handle for my left hand. I got a local leather craftsman to wrap the upright part in leather so its a really comfortable handle. Also thanks to the Promedia modular system, I was able to put two pins on the bottom in opposite corners so I could utilize the pin style of belt clip. The placement of these pins is crucial and it would not be possible to place the pins where they are with another system. Now, the camera can be dropped into the belt clip from two directions, held in two different ways with either hand, and because I have both cameras set up the exact same way there is never any need to worry about making a mistake. I never have shoulder pain because the cameras ride on my hip, and I never have wrist pain because I can always switch up which hand is holding the camera or just use both hands while shooting. It changed everything for me. I've never seen any other system come close to this.

A well built solid L Bracket for my Canon R5mkii.

FINALLY. like other than the birth of my baby boy...this is the very next thing II was looking forward to....this completes the functionality check box. - for photos and video this is a lifesaver for time restricted jobs. has saved my butt several times just in the past month - headshots for CES and video run and gun segments.barely adds any weight to the overall structured it ROCK SOLID. typical over engineering from ProMediaGear. - don't think about it - if you have 42 sticks get this.

Best L bracket in the market. I'm using with a Sony A7R3.

"The BH1 is a solid and as precise as any ball head we've used"

Bryan Carnathan | The-Digital-Picture.com

"Using the TR344 with heavy gear and long lenses was easy and enjoyable, thanks to the compact profile and lighter weight of the whole package, without any corresponding compromise in height or performance."
